Hawai'i-Hilo softball ranked 25th in final poll

The Hawai'i-Hilo women's softball team concluded its season with a top-25 ranking by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
The Vulcans landed in the 25th spot in the final poll.
The team broke barriers during the 2007 season by breaking the 40-win plateau for the program's first time with a 42-13 record.
The Vulcans also appeared in their third consecutive post-season tournament and broke through with a pair of wins to break an 0-4 record over the previous two tournaments.

HPU SIGNS TWO
Graduate student Thimo Langner and freshman Adam Rieke have signed with the Hawai'i Pacific men's soccer team, coach Scott Liedtke announced yesterday.
Langner, a 5-foot-11 forward/midfielder, hails from Wiesbaden, Germany and graduated from Birmingham Southern University in Birmingham, Alabama. He will complete his NCAA eligibility in a Sea Warrior uniform. Langner was selected as the 2005 Big South Player of the Year.
Rieke, a 5-foot-11 forward, comes from Overland Park, Kansas where he played for Blue Valley Northwest High School and the Blue Valley Stars-Real Soccer Club. He netted 20 goals in each of his 2005 club and high school seasons and won the 2006 club state championship.
BASEBALL
UHH SECURES CATCHER
Ehukai Woolley, a 6-foot-4 catcher, will be playing collegiately for the Hawai'i-Hilo baseball team.
Woolley, a 2007 graduate of Leilehua High School, was a three-year varsity player.
