MANOA
UH taking note of its landscape

Advertiser Staff

All the landscaping features and historic architecture on the 300-acre University of Hawai'i-Manoa campus will be cataloged for the first time, thanks to a $100,000 grant from the Getty Foundation in California.

The one-year project will include examinations of 50 historic buildings and a survey of the trees and shrubs on campus. Researchers will catalog the buildings and landscaping with photos, drawings, maps and written descriptions.

The project will be coordinated by Bill Chapman, director of the historic preservation graduate certificate program. For more on the Getty Foundation, go to www.getty.edu.
