Residents of Ocean Pointe will hold their first evening citizens patrol at 7 p.m. today. Meet at the intersection of Kaileole'a Drive and Kapolei Parkway. About 150 'Ewa Beach residents met with Honolulu police Tuesday night in response to a recent spate of garage burglaries in Ocean Pointe.

Besides the citizen patrols, an e-mail alert system has been created, and residents from three different Ocean Pointe sections have chosen to start neighborhood watch programs, said John Gollner, an aide to state Rep.
