Name: Sarah Pommerenk

Age: 30

Resides: Halawa

Family stats: Married with a 5-year-old daughter, 3-year-old daughter and 13-month-old son

Occupation: Full-time mom and part-time server at Big City Diner Kaimuki

Groups involved with: The Baby Hui

Hobbies/interests: "I enjoy sewing, baking and reading. But I'm not doing much right now. I attend a book club once a month."

What's the greatest thing about being a mom? "The greatest thing is the unconditional love you're free to give to your children. Also, seeing the world anew through their eyes. Kids make you slow down and enjoy simple things again."

And the hardest? "Motherhood can be lonely and isolating if you let it take over your whole life. I consciously make an effort to get out and meet other moms, maintain my existing friendships and still have fun with my husband. That said, it's difficult sometimes!"

What advice would you give to a new mom? "No one knows your child like you do, so you have to trust your instincts and do what you feel is right."

Here’s rkato26’s take on handling two tots at a time, which she describes in the Multiples forum:

“I am the mother of 6 and a half-month-old twins, boy and girl. You just have to keep your sense of humor, and patience. … I try to keep them on the same schedule for solids, bath time, nap time and bedtime. They are still waking up in the middle of the night, but they go right back to sleep after feeding. Any other suggestions from mommies of multiples would be appreciated. I just quit my job to be a stay-home mommy. Loving it.”
