TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"The Godfather, Part II" (1974), 5 p.m., Bravo. On the American Film Institute's new list of the 100 best movies of all time, don't expect to find sequels. Still, there's this exception. It's No. 32 on the AFI list. The original "Godfather" was a masterpiece, second only to "Citizen Kane" on the list. For the sequel, director Francis Ford Coppola dug deeper. Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) is the Mob boss now. In flashbacks, we see his father (Robert De Niro) as a young immigrant, facing poverty and prejudice. It's a vivid portrait.

OF NOTE

"Forrest Gump" (1994, TNT) and "Patton" (1990, AMC), both 5 p.m. Add these to "Godfather II" and you have a big night for movie buffs. All three won Oscars for best picture; "Gump" finished No. 76 on the AFI list.

"There's Something About Mary" (1998), FX, 5 p.m. and "Never Been Kissed" (1999), ABC Family, 8 p.m. Here are two fun, youthful comedies. You should find something good here.

"George Lopez," 7 and 7:30 p.m., ABC. For a moment here, ABC is back to its tradition of Friday comedies. The first rerun has Mario Lopez, as a family friend, attracted to George's niece Veronica. The second has Adam West as the inept lawyer for George's mother.

"Ghost Whisperer," 7 p.m., CBS. Whenever he tries to perform, a musician is attacked by a spirit.

"Close to Home," 8 p.m., CBS. Annabeth empathizes so strongly with a young widow that she takes extreme steps to prosecute the killer.

"Kyle XY," 8 p.m., ABC. Here's a rerun of Monday's ABC Family episode. Jessi has fallen into the wrong hands and schemes to get closer to Kyle.

"Las Vegas," 8 p.m., NBC. Delinda finally admits she has feelings for Danny. This was obvious to viewers, but the news is not greeted well by her fiance. Meanwhile, Ed (James Caan) is attacked by a gunman; also, Sam (Vanessa Marcil) goes to Hawai'i. Kelly Hu and the singer Jewel are guest stars in this rerun.

"Law & Order: Criminal Intent," 9 p.m., NBC. A hip-hop star has been killed in this rerun. Logan and Wheeler work with an undercover cop, played by rapper Sticky Fingaz.
