Punahou's Sisler shoots 10-under-par 62

Punahou's Katie Sisler shot a 10-under-par 62 yesterday to lead the Buffanblu to an Interscholastic League of Honolulu girls tournament victory at West Loch golf course.

Sisler beat teammate Anna Jang by eight strokes on the 5,018-yard layout. Punahou shot 214, with Mid-Pacific second at 235.

Kamehameha's TJ Kua shot a 65 to top the boys field on the 5,811-yard layout. Maryknoll edged the Warriors, 285-286, in the team competition.


SURFING

IRONS ELIMINATED

Former world surfing champion Andy Irons of Kaua'i lost in the second round and was eliminated from the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast meet yesterday.

Australia's Jake Paterson defeated Irons, 16.00-10.07, in clean 3- to 4-foot waves at Snapper Rocks in Coolangatta, Australia.

Irons' younger brother, Bruce, advanced with a 15.67-8.90 victory over Australia's Dayyan Neve.

Hawai'i's Pancho Sullivan also advanced by beating Australia's Shaun Cansdell, 14.76-12.80, but Hawai'i's Fred Patacchia was ousted by Australia's Michael Campbell, 15.26-11.10.

The Roxy Pro women's contest had the day off. Carissa Moore is scheduled to meet fellow Hawai'i surfer Megan Abubo in the quarterfinals.

DIVING



WIKTORSSON SECOND

Hawai'i's Mats Wiktorsson placed second in the 10-meter platform of the NCAA Zone E Diving Regional yesterday at the Oklahoma City Community College pool.

Wiktorsson, who scored 669.35 points, will compete in the NCAA Championships along with teammate Magnus Frick.

In the women's platform event yesterday, UH's Racquel Bartlow (415.50) placed ninth and Megan Farrow (380.10) 13th.

Farrow and UH teammate Emma Friesen will compete in the national meet.
