Three scientists from the Oceanic Institute represented Hawai'i last week at the World Aquaculture Society in San Antonio.
The scientists, Warren Dominy, David Ziemann and Charles Laidley, were among experts from around the world presenting local research papers on commercial fish-raising.
Oceanic Institute also sponsored a series of panel discussions at the conference addressing shrimp-farming issues in the United States, according to the institute.
The Oceanic Institute, founded in 1960 and located on a 56-acre site near Makapu'u in Windward O'ahu, is a part of Hawai'i Pacific University. The institute also has facilities on the Big Island.
