'Iolani tops Saint Louis, 2-1, in baseball

Case Miyahira scored from third base on Grant Iwamoto's groundout with one out in the top of the eighth inning and freshman Sheldon Lee struck out the final batter with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth to help 'Iolani hold off Saint Louis, 2-1, in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball game at Ala Wai Field yesterday.
The Raiders improved to 2-0 in the ILH; the Crusaders fell to 0-1.
'Iolani took a 1-0 lead in the second inning after Justin Yamamoto doubled and scored, but Saint Louis tied it in the fourth on Kyle Gonzaga's RBI double.
Ronnie Hirokawa picked up the win for the Raiders, coming on in the eighth inning for starter JD Bunda. Lee earned his second save in four days after getting the final out in Tuesday's 5-4 victory over Kamehameha.
Reyn Nagamine went 2 for 2 with a double for 'Iolani, which plays at Mid-Pacific (0-0) today at 3 p.m.
