Two softball fields, two outdoor basketball courts, a tennis court and a volleyball court are among the planned improvements at the city's Geiger Community Park in 'Ewa, according to a recent filing in the Office of Environmental Quality Control bulletin.

Funding already has been approved for those improvements, and construction is scheduled to begin later this year.

Future improvements include a 5,780-square-foot recreational building, lights for the parking lot, one of the softball fields and the courts. Estimated cost of the city development, which is being done in four phases, is $6.5 million.
