The public restrooms at Sharks' Cove and Pupukea are looking much better, thanks to a volunteer project spearheaded by the North Shore Chamber of Commerce.

Volunteers spent five Saturday mornings recently sanding down, priming and repainting the restrooms, the group said.

The group also received support from several North Shore businesses that donated supplies, paint, a power washer and labor to the project.

The chamber says the city Department of Parks and Recreation also helped in coordinating the project.
