A fundraiser hosted by NCL America's Pride of America in the ship ballroom raised more than $33,000 for college scholarships.

The money raised at the Hawai'i Island Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Auction Event on March 11 was the most raised by the chamber in the 17-year history of the auction. More than $15,500 came from bids on 36 auction items.

The money raised goes to the University of Hawai'i Foundation to benefit students majoring in business or economics at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo, and to USA Today's All-USA College Academic Team at Hawai'i Community College.
