The family-friendly Israel Day Hawaii Festival is your chance to learn more about the Islands' Jewish community. There'll be Jewish and Middle Eastern food, exhibits, keiki activities and entertainment, headlined by the Sunlight Orchestra.
The festival celebrates Yom Ha'Atzmaut (pronounced yome ha-otts-ma-oot), which marks 59 years of Israeli independence; and Lag b'Omer (log beh oh-mare), a day of summer outings.
Israel Day, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow, takes place at the lawn area that holds the Sky Gate sculpture, near the Frank F. Fasi Municipal Building. Admission and parking are free. www.israeldayhawaii.com.
