Defending champion Punahou seeded No. 1

Interscholastic League of Honolulu champion Punahou is the top seed in the state high school baseball championships, which starts Wednesday at Les Murakami Stadium.
The Buffanblu (16-1) are three-time defending state champions.
O'ahu Interscholastic Association champion Pearl City (11-3) is seeded No. 2, followed by No. 3 Waiakea (12-1), champion of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation, and St. Anthony (10-3), the Maui Interscholastic League champion.
The four seeded teams receive byes in the Wally Yonamine Foundation Baseball State Championship. The championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday.
Other teams in the tournament are Mililani, Kailua, Kalani and Kaiser of the OIA; Hilo and Kamehameha-Hawai'i of the BIIF; Kamehameha-Maui of the MIL and Kaua'i of the Kaua'i Interscholastic Federation.
