A family hunt for rare trees

Advertiser Staff

The Waimea Valley Audubon Center will host a Family Treesure Hunt from 1 to 3 p.m. May 19.

Family teams will discover the stories and amazing facts about some of the park's oldest residents: its trees. Groups will learn about the century-old life forms as they try to find and name mystery trees throughout the park.

Teams will be given maps and clues to find at least 10 unique trees and complete tasks for each one. Each task is combined to create an educational and fun craft to take home.

The program fee is $3 plus admission to the park. Registration is required by calling 638-9199.
