The state Department of Transportation will hold a public informational meeting on Thursday about the pending start of the Fort Weaver Road widening project.

The meeting will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the 'Ewa Elementary School cafeteria on Renton Road.

The upcoming construction, estimated at $59.85 million, will widen the roadway from four to six lanes from 'A'awa Drive to Geiger Road.

Pending permits and approvals, construction is expected to start in August and be completed in early 2009.
