Two enduring Broadway classics, with origins in the mid-1960s, are being revived by community theaters here.
"Man of La Mancha" is a play-within-a-play, in a 17th-century dungeon. "Fiddler on the Roof," set in 1905 Anatevka in czarist Russia, examines the loss of tradition amid the changing profile in civilization.
"La Mancha" is being touted as the largest collaborative musical in 20 years, tapping opera, community and student players. "Fiddler" boasts a large and spirited ensemble. Both are perennial audience favorites.
