Honolulu's Kenton Muramoto, 36, has never been to Vegas. Now, he has no excuses.

Muramoto won Week 11 of the Pigskin Picks contest and earns a trip for two to Las Vegas and $500.

"Well, I never had the resources I guess. (Never had) enough cushion to go there," said Muramoto in explaining why he's never visited Sin City.

When told that the prize also included $500, Muramoto said, "that's like a night."

Muramoto, who works for Hosoi Mortuary, has been playing Pigskin Picks for three years. He submitted nine entries — was 13-2 on the winning entry.

"I have several different strategies; might go with spreads on one ballot. I could go with first instinct on one, then go with upsets," he said.

His ballot included upsets such as Wisconsin over Michigan, Atlanta over Carolina and St. Louis over New Orleans.

In the end, though, Muramoto said luck played a big part in beating such long odds.

"I'm in shock. I never thought ... (I would) ever come close," he said.

"(You) not only gotta pick right, but you gotta be selected ... unbelievable."
