SLEEP WITH THE FISHES: Maui Ocean Center invites children in grades 3 through 8 to spend the night among sharks, octopus, squid, eels and other bizarre creatures that might give you the heebie-jeebies! From rarely seen deep-sea creatures to strange tide pool invertebrates, children can learn about the most unusual marine animals, their dangerous defenses, creepy camouflage and amazing abilities. Children also will feed the turtles and hammerhead sharks, make Halloween crafts, watch movies and explore the dark, eerie hallways of the aquarium at night.

KILAUEA ADVENTURE: Hawai'i Forest & Trail's Kilauea Volcano Adventure is a full-day outing for all ages with easy to moderate walking. Explore the park in the company of an interpretive naturalist and learn about its geological and historic significance; the hike includes access to restricted rainforest areas for a "ginger pull" which helps keep the rainforest pristine.
