GOING VEGAS By

A decade ago, there was barely a casino-based nightclub in all of Las Vegas. Today, it's almost impossible to keep up with the changes without a scorecard.
So here it is. Considering both full-fledged nightclubs and the scaled-down ultra lounges, recently opened clubs include:
LAX (Luxor), Blush (Wynn Las Vegas), 4949 Lounge (Santa Fe Station), a new club/restaurant called Diablo's Cantina (Monte Carlo), and the noncasino Stoney's Rockin' Country (South Strip).
Announced to open later this year is the 40/40 Club (Palazzo). Just closed and reopening after a remodel are Light (Bellagio) and OPM (Forum Shops at Caesars Palace). Soon to close and reopen is Tangerine (TI). Closed without plans to reopen is Fever at South Point, and there's a possibility of Club Rio (Rio) closing.
The irony is that Club Rio was the casino club that started the rush about 10 years ago.
STRIPBURGER: Stripburger is a burger stand that's recently popped up on the southwest corner of the Strip and Spring Mountain Road. It's actually a new-age burger stand, with stainless-steel tables and big circular bar in the middle of the space. Nothing on the menu, including the nonfrozen and fresh-ground burgers, costs more than $10. Burgers and homemade shakes in an outdoor setting that borders the most famous boulevard in the world. That's hard to argue with.
DOGS FOR SUBS: The good Vegas Subs shops have closed at both the Las Vegas Hilton and the Palms.
The Hilton space is now a sports- book snack bar. The Palms space is now a Nathan's Hot Dogs.
Q: What's the inside scoop on OJ Simpson's misadventure in Las Vegas?
There isn't one yet. The media stories that have been run are comprehensive. If OJ stands trial, Las Vegas figures to cash in again on what most would consider "bad press."
