Parker School students recently accepted a $30,000 check from the HEI Charitable Foundation. The gift represented a two-year grant awarded to Parker for its Lower School Capital Campaign.
HEI is funded by the shareholders of Hawaiian Electric Industries Inc. The new Parker Lower School campus opened in August 2007, filled to capacity. It serves 90 Big Island students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
Representatives of HEI subsidiary American Savings Bank, a longtime supporter of Parker School, made the presentation.
