WI-FI COMING TO SATELLITE CITY HALLS
Free wireless Internet service is coming to satellite city halls in November, Mayor Mufi Hannemann announced.
Skywave Broadband, Inc., will provide free Wi-Fi service at the 10 satellite city halls on O'ahu and will be responsible for supplying and installing the hardware, providing technical support and establishing a separate broadband network to ensure the security of the city's existing system, the city said.
The service will be available to users with a Wi-Fi-enabled device. The value of Skywave's five-year commitment to the city is estimated at $8,400 a year.
The city previously announced the installation of free wireless transmitters in Chinatown.
