The county has announced that the Puhi Metals Recycling Center will be closed Saturday through Monday, reopening Tuesday.

During the closure, the facility operator will be conducting site preparations and hauling operations involving a large amount of scrap metal that will be shipped to O'ahu for recycling.

Hauling will begin at about 9 p.m. Saturday and at 7 a.m. Sunday and Monday, and is expected to run into the evening.
