PALOLO
School party marks progress
Advertiser Staff
To celebrate achieving "adequate yearly progress" under the federal No Child Left Behind law, Palolo Elementary School is holding a cake-and-ice-cream party for its students, teachers and staff tomorrow in its cafeteria.
The event will start at 1:30 p.m.
A month ago, the Department of Education announced that 60 percent of Hawai'i's public schools — including Palolo Elementary — had achieved AYP. The achievement means the school is no longer under the most severe level of sanctions under the federal law.
