Two beach cleanups — at Hanauma Bay and Makapu'u Beach Park — have been organized for Saturday.

The Hanauma Bay cleanup will be from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and will focus on the beach, parking lot and along Kalaniana'ole Highway.

Volunteers should bring proof of residency to avoid having to pay to go down to the beach. Gloves, bags and cold drinks will be provided. No registration is required.

The Beach Environmental Awareness Campaign Hawai'i is organizing a cleanup of Makapu'u from 3 to 6 p.m. as part of Get the Drift And Bag It. Volunteers should call 393-2168 or 554-2902 to register.
