The University of Hawai'i Institute for Astronomy will hold its first Maui Open House from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Maikalani Advanced Technology Research Center.

The free event features laboratory tours, demonstrations, star-gazing through telescopes, and talks on astronomy topics.

The center is at 34 'Ohi'a Ku St. in the Kulamalu Town Center. Admission is free. The new facility supports the institute's work on solar astronomy and the Pan-STARRS PS1 telescope atop Haleakala.
