Macadangdang new HPD assistant chief

Randal "Randy" Macadangdang, who celebrates his 25th anniversary with the Honolulu Police Department in August, was promoted today to the rank of assistant chief.
As assistant chief of the Special Field Operations Bureau, the 50-year-old Macadangdang will oversee the Central Receiving, Homeland Security, Specialized Services and Traffic Divisions. Macadangdang's promotion is effective Sunday.
The Maui native lettered in volleyball, basketball, cross country, track and baseball at Lahainaluna High, and went on to play volleyball for three years at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa. Macadandang went on to earn his master's degree in administration from Central Michigan. He joined HPD in 1983.
Chief Boisse Correa today announced 44 other promotions, including four majors.
The new majors are Frank Fujii (Executive Bureau), Robert Green (East Honolulu Patrol District 7), Clayton Kau (Narcotics/Vice), and John McEntire (Human Resources).
