Advertiser Staff
University of Hawai'i senior Kate Robinson has been named Western Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week after three complete-game conference victories last week.
Robinson, who earned WAC Hitter of the Week honors earlier this season, pitched a two-hitter to beat New Mexico State, 4-0, then came back the next day to beat the Aggies, 1-0, with a four-hitter. In the two games, she struck out 13, walked one and allowed just two runners to reach third base.
Then, against Louisiana Tech, Robinson scattered 10 hits and struck out six to beat the Bulldogs, 6-4, and improve her record to 12-3 overall and 3-0 in the WAC.
Robinson, who hit .353 with a double, two home runs and three RBIs in five games, was also UH's WAC Hitter of the Week nominee.
The Rainbow Wahine are off until San Jose State visits on April 11 and 12.
