A newly reworked twist on Carlo Goldoni's "The Servant of Two Masters" comes to the University of Hawai'i-Manoa's Kennedy Theatre mainstage. The 1753 Italian comedy tells of a servant named Truffaldino (Jordan Savusa) who mistakenly gets employed by more than one master and spends all his time trying not to get caught. Then there's a fiancee returned from the dead, girls dressed as guys, guys dressed as girls, a play within a play, commedia dell 'arte and guest improvisers.

STAGE: APRIL 18

"Bleachers in the Sun," a new play by award-winning playwright Y York, takes to the stage at The ARTS at Marks Garage. "Sun" takes a comedic and terrifying look at the pressures of young adults in today's world, following four 11-year-old girls as they face issues such as peer pressure, sexuality, media expectations and the desire and need to prolong childhood. It's an adult play with adult themes; parents are welcome to accompany children 10 and older. Among the cast: from left, Jessica Haworth, Kathy Hunter, Monica Cho Coldwell.

FESTIVAL: APRIL 19

The Mayor's Office of Culture and the Arts presents the first-ever Art on the Block, in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the City's Commission on Culture and the Arts. Headlining this all-day event are vocalists Kristian Lei and Jasmine Trias; other entertainment includes taiko drumming, hula, Hawaiian chanting and a Chinese dragon dance. The event will also feature cultural exhibits, local artists, food, demonstrations and more, giving residents and visitors the chance to experience the mix of cultures of the Islands.

CONCERT: APRIL 11

The critically acclaimed Claremont Trio comes to Hawai'i for the season finale of the Honolulu Chamber Music Series, sponsored by the University of Hawai'i-Manoa Music Department and Outreach College. Based in New York, the three — violinist Emily Bruskin, cellist Julia Bruskin and pianist Donna Kwong, above — formed in 1999 at The Juilliard School. For its Honolulu concert the trio will be performing works by Beethoven, Castelnuovo-Tedesco and Brahms.

Last seen in the Islands for the 2008 Pro Bowl halftime show just a couple of months ago, Lifehouse is back for a show at Pipeline. The alternative-Christian rock band is coming off its "Disarray Tour"; expect to hear songs from its latest album, "Who Are We," as well past hits such as "You and Me" and "Hanging by a Moment."

EXPO: APRIL 25-27

The 33rd annual Spring New Products Show hits the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall with more locally made products and businesses as well as Taste of the Pacific, with food from some of Hawai'i's favorite restaurants and caterers. There will be a meet-and-greet with new University of Hawai'i football coach Greg McMackin and performances by the newly reformed theKRUSH, the cast of the Stars In Concert and Afatia, 2007 Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner. And there's a chance to win a $100,000 extreme home interior makeover and other prizes and giveaways.

If you're not spending "Saturday in the Park," Chicago will be back in concert at the Blaisdell Arena, bringing all the hits you've come to know and love over the last 41 years. Songs such as "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" and "Hard to Say I'm Sorry," from experimental rock to power love ballads, this veteran band will have everyone on their feet, or at least singing along. Their last concert here in 2004 nearly sold out.

CULTURE: APRIL 26

The second annual Distinctive Women in Hawaiian History, presented by Bishop Museum, is a day-long program of 15 presentations — illustrated lectures, chants, traditional Hawaiian storytelling, dramatic performances and clips from films including "Exit to Paradise" (executive producer Edgy Lee and producer Don Brown). Seating is limited; register through April 18 (entry on a space-available basis afterward). The program is for those 17 and older. Where is the love, you ask? The love songs surely will be at the 2008 Hawaii Romance Festival, a series of concerts and other events dedicated to celebrating love, love, love. Concerts will feature local, national and international entertainers. Among those scheduled to perform are Sergio Mendes, left, Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight, Aaron Neville and Kimberley Locke.
