TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
Merrie Monarch Festival Hula Competition, 6 p.m., ABC. Both women's and men's halau take to the stage tonight to dance kahiko (ancient) hula at Hawai'i's top hula event in Hilo.
"Battlestar Galactica" season-opener, 7 p.m., Sci Fi Channel. In one crowded hour, "Galactica" takes two detours. It wraps up Baltar's trial and whisks him to a part of the ship we didn't know existed. And it brings back Starbuck. Yes, that's the same Starbuck who seemingly died in a fierce fireball. Colleagues are understandably skeptical — especially about the claim she makes. We're skeptical, too, but we'll stick with it. "Galactica" is a smart, well-crafted show; also, this first hour throws in lots of booming action.
OF NOTE
"Bones," 7 p.m., Fox. This rerun replaces the scheduled comedies. A murder probe leads to a labyrinth of tunnels, used by the homeless.
"Ghost Whisperer," 7 p.m., CBS. Two CBS dramas have new episodes tonight. In this one, Ned's girlfriend says her late father is haunting her.
"Canterbury's Law," 8 p.m., Fox. Last week, Elizabeth was jailed overnight for jury-tampering and perjury. Now she defends two teens accused of soliciting a murder. Things get worse when one switches lawyers and cuts a deal.
"Numb3rs," 9 p.m., CBS. During a drug bust, Don arrests someone who has a bigger scheme in mind.
