Baseball: Rays' Floyd to have knee surgery
Associated Press
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Rays outfielder Cliff Floyd will have surgery on Friday to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee.
The injury was discovered by an MRI exam today. Floyd has been slowed by a sore knee, and hasn't played since being scratched from the starting lineup Monday.
Floyd is hitting .333 with two homers and five RBIs in four games. There was no immediately word on how long he will be sidelined.
Tampa Bay placed him on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Monday. The Rays also recalled outfielder Justin Ruggiano from Triple-A Durham.
