Advertiser Staff

The first-ever meeting of the nine-member Nanakuli-Ma'ili Neighborhood Board No. 36 took place Monday in the library of the Kamehameha Learning Center at 89-101 Farrington Highway.

About 100 people were in attendance for what was mostly a welcoming get-together to elect presiding officials.

Patty Teruya, former chair of the Wai'anae Coast Neighborhood Board, was selected to chair the new board.

"I am very excited," said Teruya. "We're moving forward."

Other board officials elected were James Kimo Kelii, vice chair; Mervina Cash-Kaeo, secretary/treasurer; and Neddie Waiamau-Nunuha, sergeant at arms.
