Hawai'i's Natasha Kai has made quite a splash recently as a member of the United States women's soccer national team.
After struggling to find her form earlier this year, Kai has bounced back with two goals at the Algarve Cup and four so far in Olympic qualifying. The U.S. women have already clinched an Olympic berth and play Canada today in the qualifying final.
The U.S. Soccer Web site conducted a question-and-answer session with Kai, a Kahuku High and University of Hawai'i alum. She talked about her recent success as well as why she would take her teammates to Polynesian Cultural Center and what she eats when she returns home to the North Shore.
One of the questions:
ussoccer.com: You recently got your 19th tattoo, some stars on the back of your neck that look a lot like the stars on the U.S. uniform. This MUST be it for the tattoos, right?
TASH: Of course … NOT. I don't have any immediate plans, but I can't promise I will stop. Right now, I don't have any ideas so I am taking a little break with my body. I am really happy with all my tattoos right now.
