High surf advisory remains posted for east-facing shores

Advertiser Staff

A high surf advisory remains in effect for all east-facing shores on Oahu with surf of 6 to 8 feet expected throughout the day, the National Weather Service said.

Elsewhere, the surf is expected to be 4 to 6 feet along north-facing shores, 1 to 3 feet along west-facing shores and 3 to 5 feet along south-facing shores.

A long-period, moderate-size south swell arriving Thursday will peak Friday then slowly decline through next Monday. Surf along south facing shores may reach the high surf advisory threshold on Friday.

A small northwest swell arriving Thursday will build slowly and shift to north northwest by Saturday, then slowly decline through next Monday.
