Woolaway most outstanding award to Luettgerodt, Nash

Seniors Riley Luettgerodt and Bobby Nash shared the top honor at the University of Hawai'i men's basketball team awards banquet last night at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
Luettgerodt and Nash were named co-winners of the Art Woolaway Most Outstanding Player Award.
Luettgerodt, a 6-foot-5 guard, averaged 12.8 points per game and led the Rainbow Warriors in rebounding with 4.9 per game. He was also second on the team in free-throw percentage (.813) and assists per game (2.8).
Nash, a 6-7 forward, averaged 13.7 points per game and led the 'Bows in 3-pointers (59), minutes per game (35.5) and established a single-season school record for free-throw percentage (.879).
Senior center Stephen Verwers, who suffered a season-ending leg injury on Christmas Day, was named the Ah Chew Goo Most Inspirational Player.
Senior point guard Matt Gibson — who led the team in scoring with 17.0 points per game, and assists with 4.8 per game, — was named the Top Playmaker.
Also, sophomore forward Bill Amis was named the Most Improved Player, and senior guard Jared Dillinger was named Top Defensive Player.
The 'Bows finished with an 11-19 overall record last season under first-year head coach Bob Nash.
The team's seven seniors — Gibson, Dillinger, Luettgerodt, Nash, Verwers, P.J. Owsley and Alex Veit — were also recognized last night.
