CBKB: Mississippi St. point guard declares for NBA draft
Associated Press
JACKSON, Miss. — Mississippi State point guard Jamont Gordon has decided to turn pro but won't hire an agent before the NBA draft.
Gordon told The Associated Press he planned to file the paperwork. In a phone interview this afternoon, Gordon said he intends to go through with the draft if he remains injury free.
He filed the necessary paperwork last spring, but withdrew before losing his eligibility.
A 6-foot-4, 240-pound junior from Nashville, Tenn., Gordon was an all-Southeastern Conference selection this year and just lost out to Vanderbilt's Shan Foster for league player of the year. He averaged 17.2 points per game and was one of the SEC's most difficult matchups.
