A fire that was first reported at 2:55 a.m. today continued to burn this morning in a remote mountainside area above Honoapiilani Highway near the Kihei junction at Kuihelani Highway, Maui officials said.

At 4:30 this morning, the amount of burned acreage was set at 10 acres.

Fire crews have been dispatched to the scene.

As of 5 a.m., traffic had not been affected and no injuries reported. No homes are reported in the vicinity.

No additional information will be available until 10 a.m. today.
