No. 1 UCLA rallies past UH to reach MPSF water polo final

Top-seeded UCLA rallied from a 3-0 deficit to defeat fifth-seeded Hawai'i, 8-6, today in a semifinal match of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's water polo tournament at San Diego.
UCLA, which remained perfect at 29-0, plays in the title match tomorrow against USC, a 5-4 winner in overtime over Stanford. Hawai'i (20-9) will play Stanford for third place tomorrow.
The Rainbow Wahine held USC scoreless for the first 14 minutes, taking a 3-0 lead, but the Bruins ralled for three goals at the end of the second quarter to tie it at halftime.
UCLA led 6-5 after three periods and scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
Kelly Mason and Angela Turnbull led UH with two goals apiece. UCLA's Courtney Mathewson led all scorers with four goals.
