Bank of Hawaii Corp. named Peter Ho as its No. 2 executive.
The 43-year-old Ho was named president of the bank, where he oversees retail banking, commercial banking and investment services.
Ho, the son of local business leader Stuart Ho and grandson of legendary deal maker Chinn Ho, assumes the title previously held by Allan Landon, who remains the company's chairman and chief executive officer.
The promotion took effect yesterday.
"Peter is an excellent leader with solid banking experience," Landon said. "This promotion recognizes his accomplishments and the board of directors' and my confidence in his abilities."
Ho joined the bank in 1993 after beginning his banking career in New York. He previously served as vice chairman.
Bank of Hawaii also named board member Kent Lucien as vice chairman and interim chief financial officer. He replaces former CFO Dan Stevens, who is returning to the Mainland.
Lucien previously served as CEO operations and CFO at C. Brewer & Co. A certified public accountant, Lucien has held several management posts at C. Brewer since 1980.
"Kent's combination of financial management skills and leadership experience, as well as his familiarity with our business and the local community make him a good fit for the position," Landon said.
Bank of Hawaii also named several executives — Derek Baughman, Sharon Crofts, Lee Moriwaki and Dean Shigemura — to its management committee. All four were promoted from executive vice president to senior executive vice president.
