KODOMO NO HI: KEIKI FUN FEST
What was traditionally celebrated in Japan as Girls Day (March 3) and Boys Day (May 5) is now Children's Day, or Kodomo No Hi. The Japanese Cultural Center's fifth annual celebration includes an obstacle course, kimono dressing (for a fee), entertainment, a mini craft fair and kid-friendly food. Among the hands-on cultural activities: enameling, decorative string art and the game of go. Kids also can try to catch koi (carp) with thin paper nets in the game of kingyosukui.
