TheBus will have a few changes today because of the "I love Kailua Town" party taking place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Kailua.

The party is on Kailua Road between Oneawa and Hahani Streets, with street closures starting at 8:30 a.m.

City buses operating on the following routes will DETOUR at 8:30 a.m. or when directed by HPD.

DETOUR

8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Route 57, Kailua-Waimanalo-Sea Life Park

Eastbound: Honolulu-bound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Wanaao/Kailua Rd intersection (traffic light). TheBus will then DETOUR right on Kailua Rd (heading towards Lanikai), makai on Kailua Rd, left on S. Kainalu, left on Kuulei, onto Kailua Rd, and then resume the regular route from Kailua Rd/Oneawa bus stop (Goodyear).

Westbound: Kailua-bound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kailua Rd/Hamakua bus stop. TheBus will then DETOUR by continuing makai on Kailua Rd onto Kuulei, right on S. Kainalu, right on Kailua Rd, left on Wanaao, and then resume the regular route.

Route 57A, Kailua-Keolu Drive

Eastbound: Honolulu-bound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Hamakua/Hahani (Safeway) bus stop. TheBus will then DETOUR by continuing on Hamakua, left on Kailua Rd , and then resume the regular route.

Westbound: Kailua-bound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kailua Rd/Hamakua intersection. TheBus will then DETOUR right on Hamakua, right on Keolu, resuming regular route.

Route 70, Lanikai-Maunawili

Eastbound: Lanikai-bound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kailua Rd/Hamakua bus stop. TheBus will then DETOUR by continuing makai on Kailua Rd , onto Kuulei, right on S. Kainalu , left on Kailua Rd , and then resume the regular route.

Westbound: Trips to Marine Corps Base Hawaii : TheBus will travel the regular route to Kailua Rd/S. Kainalu intersection. TheBus will then DETOUR right on Kuulei, left on N. Kalaheo, and then resume the regular detour route to Marine Base Hawaii.

Trips to Maunawili via Kailua : TheBus will travel the regular route to Kailua Rd/S. Kainalu intersection. TheBus will then DETOUR right on S. Kainalu, left on Kuulei, onto Kailua Rd , and then resume the regular route from Kailua Rd/Oneawa bus stop (Goodyear).
