Tadd Fujikawa, 17, flirted with the lead through 11 holes before finishing

with a 1-under 69 Thursday in the Crowns 2008, a Japan Tour Golf event in Aichi,

Japan.

Fujikawa, who won his first professional event two weeks ago in the Mid-Pac

Open on Oahu, was tied for the lead at 3-under at one point.

Fujikawa birdied the third and fourth holes en route to a 2-under 33 on the

front.

He birdied the 10th to go to 3-under but bogeyed successive holes on the

13th and 14th. He recorded pars the rest of the way for a back nine 1-over 36.

Kiyoshi Miyazato and Tatuhiko Takahashi are at 4-under and are the clubhouse leaders. About half the field of 108 players have completed their rounds.

The $1.12 million event finishes Sunday in Japan.
