Record gas prices in Honolulu, Hilo

Hawai'i gas prices continued their record-breaking ascent yesterday, hitting an average record $3.81 statewide, according to AAA Hawaii.
That was up 16 cents a gallon from a month ago and up 61 cents from a year ago. Around the state, the average was $3.71 in Honolulu; $3.84 in Hilo, Hawai'i; and $4.120 in Wailuku, Maui. The Honolulu and Hilo prices were records. The AAA doesn't report gas prices from Kaua'i, Lana'i or Moloka'i.
Hawai'i's average gas price was the third-highest in the nation behind California at $3.91 a gallon and Alaska at $3.82 a gallon.
Nationally, the average price for a gallon of regular hit a record high $3.61.
