Eagles, Westbrook agree on terms of new deal

PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ The Philadelphia Eagles and running back Brian Westbrook have agreed to a new deal.
The Eagles announced the new contract today, hours before they opened their preseason schedule against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The 28-year-old Westbrook has said he wanted to restructure his contract because he feels underpaid. He has made it clear he wanted to be compensated like one of the best running backs in the NFL.
Westbrook was in the third year of a $25 million, five-year contract he signed in 2005. He was scheduled to earn $3 million this season with a roster bonus of $1.5 million.
Last season, the two-time Pro Bowl selection led the NFL with a franchise-record 2,104 total yards from scrimmage.
