After 40 years of celebrating Mass every Sunday at Hilton Hawaiian Village on the ewa side of Waikiki, Sts. Peter & Paul Church, a Roman Catholic Parish near Ala Moana, will be dropping that outreach service for visitors.

The 9 a.m. service on Sundays will end on Aug. 31.

The reason for the change is that the hotel, which previously had allowed the church free space to hold Mass, will begin in September implement a fee of $800 a week.

St. Augustine Church, another Roman Catholic church, is located on Kalakaua Avenue on the diamondhead side of Waikiki, near the zoo.
