Hilo wins, plays for U.S. title in 13-14 age group World Series

Hilo beat Johnston, Iowa in the Little League Juniors (ages 13-14) World Series, 11-3, today at Taylor, Mich., to clinch first place in the U.S. pool.
Jayce Carvalho hit a two-run homer in the first and a solo shot in the second for Hilo (3-1). Kean Wong had a three-run homer in the second.
Hilo will play the U.S. pool runner-up Friday at 2 p.m. Hawai'i for the U.S. championship. The winner of that game will play the International winner Saturday.
