Charges were still pending tonight against a 24-year-old man arrested yesterday in a kidnapping and sex-assault investigation involving a teenage female victim.

The man was arrested at a shopping complex on North Nimitz Highway at 2:55 p.m. and booked for three counts each of first- and third-degree sex assault and one count of kidnapping. A second suspect is at large, police said.

The alleged assault occurred Aug. 1 between 12:01 a.m. and 1:30 a.m., police said.

The victim told police she felt "intimidated" by the 5-foot-11, 230-pound suspect following a minor traffic accident in Mo'ili'ili and was taken to a secluded area in Kaimuki and attacked.
