Police have arrested a man for the alleged armed robbery of a cab driver on Tantalus this morning.

The man was arrested about noon, after an intense search that included officers walking into wooded areas of Tantalus to look for him. A handgun was also recovered in the area, police said.

Police responded to the incident just after 11 a.m. Police did not immediately have details on where the alleged robbery occurred.

As a precaution while they were looking for the suspect, police searched cars leaving the area on Tantalus and Round Top drives and allowed only residents to go into the area.
