Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve will be closed to commercial vehicles for three weeks, starting Tuesday, while its commercial vehicle roadway and parking lot are being reconstructed.

The work will not affect private vehicles.

The improvements include replacement of the existing surfaces and foundation, and re-striping of traffic lanes and parking stalls.

The road is scheduled to reopen to commercial traffic Sept. 24.
