Lingle urges Hawaii to be prepared for any future hurricanes

Gov. Linda Lingle is advising Hawai'i residents to prepare for the possibility of their own hurricane as Hurricane Gustav bears down on the Gulf Coast.
Lingle says hurricanes pose a real threat to Hawai'i.
She says families should develop a family disaster plan, learn where their nearest shelters are located, prepare emergency supply kits, stock provisions for seven days and stay aware of weather conditions.
Lingle and Lt. Gov. James "Duke" Aiona are in St. Paul, Minn. for the Republican National Convention.
It wasn't known whether Lingle's scheduled Tuesday night speech would be affected by the toned-down convention.
