STORRS, Conn. — Connecticut tailback Andre Dixon has been charged with drunken driving and suspended from the team indefinitely.
UConn police say an officer pulled Dixon over shortly after 1:30 a.m. today because Dixon was tailgating her cruiser.
The junior from New Brunswick, N.J., was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and following too closely. He posted a $500 bond and is to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Dec. 15.
UConn football coach Randy Edsall says he has suspended Dixon indefinitely for an undisclosed violation of team rules.
The Huskies play No. 23 Pittsburgh in their regular-season finale Saturday.
Dixon was also suspended last season for two games for violating team rules.
